htmlspecialchars()

How's it going.....?

I read that htmlspacialchars can be used for representing predefined values in form fields when there's lot's of special chars in the value. Apparently it can also be used for hidden fields in this way.

However, how do you decode it on the next page please. i.e. does htmlspecialchars have a complement (like urlencode and urldecode).

If not, then what's the point of using it to send awkward data in hidden fields please?
