Session question

I have read the manual and look threw the help forms but could not find a direct answer to my quest, which is. I use session start to get a unique id for each person that start my search page, but what im wondering is there any way to have the session stop like maybe session_stop() (which does not work tried).

please if some one could help me with this simple but had problem for me it would be great.

there is the session_destroy() function. it gets rid of all the session data that has been stored but a browser's session id may still be the same after this function call.
