mail() config issue?

Does anyone know whether mail() needs configuring in any way?

I set up this simple test: -

<?
echo ("your details will be e-mailed to you");

mail ("$to","$subject","$body");
?>

But I get this back from the browser: -

Warning: Unknown error in c:/program files/apache group/apache/htdocs/myregatta/mail2.php4 on line 12.

By the way, I've just set up Postcast (on my NT4 Apache webserver) Postcast works fine both locally and over the LAN. So as SMTP is working well I didn't anticipate problems with my scripts.

Hi Paul,

The call to the mail function is on line 12: - ("$to","$subject","$body");

I've also checked php.ini - the default lines in there should cause no problem from what I can see. I'm stumped....

The sites not about boating!! I work for an outdoor clothing company in the UK. We decided to create an extranet and that's what myregatta.net is about 🙂
