multi-lingual web site

Hello,

     I am currently developing a web site which comes in 3 different languages, english,french and german. I would like to be able to send people to the appropriate section of their web site i.e. if a german logs on send them to the german index page. I would appreciate any ideas on what the best method for this might be. Currently the english index page has two nation flags which when clicked bring you to the german and french versions of the site. Thanks in advance for any help you may give in this.

gettext is what you want. It is or it can be built into php. Read up on it in the manual.
