List contents of directory

I am trying to figure out how to list the contents of a specific diretory on my server, and print to a page. The contents I am concerned about are all .gif files. All I want to do is print all the .gif's (via include) to an uploader page.
I been spinning my wheels in the manual, learning some cool features, but can't seem to figure out what I need.

Any help would be appreciated.

Look at: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.readdir.php

PHP already has the functions needed to access information from the file system.
