Textarea problem

Hello everyone,

I have become a problem with a script, a line in it is:
<textarea name="message" rows="5" cols="23"><?echo("$something")?></textarea><br>

My problem is, that I in $something have a </textarea>, can I do something, so something is being write as text and not htm-codes?

It should be written like this between the textarea:

<?php echo $something; ?>

and all should be fine

$something= htmlspecialchars($something);
?>

<textarea name="message" rows="5" cols="23"><?echo("$something")?></textarea><br>

Not the prettiest, but it will eliminate all the hassle that comes with HTML content within your textarea.
