xtpl template problem

I am experiencing a strange problem using xtpl class (template engine) with PHP4.0.5rc1 (win dlls d-loaded from php4win.de ) as cgi.
Php works fine but whenever I try to use the class php crashes.

Anybody experienced the same prob?
