Your answer got me to putting my thinking cap on. Now the next is straight HTML, but it works, and could easily be ported to a PHP function (which I intend to do) and called as necessary.
The following HTML script will give you a centered table with two form buttons and a grey area in between. The buttons are (background) colored "coral" and "limegreen" (works for me). And it looks rather nice, if I don't say so myself. And the user certainly SHOULD NOT be confused by hitting the wrong button (which is what I was after to begin with :-) ).
STINGER'S MOTTO: K.I.S.S. If you don't accomodate your customer, they will not be back to your web site, no matter how much fancy Java you throw at them.
Ok, ok, I'll quit pontificating.
<TABLE ALIGN = CENTER BORDER=3 CELLPADDING=5 CELLSPACING=5 WIDTH="65%">
<TR>
<TD ALIGN=LEFT BGCOLOR="coral"><INPUT TYPE="reset" VALUE= "Clear Form"></TD>
<TD ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=3000 BORDERCOLOR="blue" BGCOLOR="lightgrey" COLSPAN=10></TD>
<TD ALIGN=RIGHT BGCOLOR="limegreen"><INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE= "Continue . . ."></TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
Life is good.
