textarea in php

when i do this, the textarea does not show up on the html page. any ideas?

Do you get any errors? seems to be fine.

Note: you do not need the quotes areound the print "$textblock";

you could simply use

print $textblock;

Also i noticed when using netscape that if you don't have <form> tags then your form will not display, but it will in IE.

this is annoying. the textarea shows in IE but not netscape.
i have form tags so i'm wondering what's going on...

I just checked your code in IE and NN - shows fine. That means that the problem is with your HTML/TABLE tags on the page where you have this form.

As far as I know, quotes are not needed in HTML tags, so you can simply write '<input type=text name=box>'.

okay people. thanks for the suggestions and help.

it was actually a problem with style sheets. apparently netscape doesn't support textarea styles but IE does. instead of just ignoring the style, it screws up the textarea. a bit silly really.
