Where to start?

Hi folks,
I want to store my page content on a DB, should I have my index as a static page? and if so how would I make the links query the DB t oreturn the content?

What I really need is an idea of where and how to start learning the theory that I need to start doing this.

That depends. If the individual pages are all retrieved in response to some kind of query, then it could well be static, with the search form right there. But more likely you'll want some direct links to stories from the db (e.g. "new stories", "top 10", and so forth) and that really points to making the main page dynamic, too.

There appears to be a typo here, but I'm feeling extra dense tonight and am having trouble being certain what you were actually asking. 'Relative'? If all you're asking is how to make a link refer to another page on the same site, you can just say href="sibling.php" or "sib_directory/file.php" or "../../ancestor.php" and so forth. But I'm not at all sure that's what you're after, since it really has nothing to do with dynamic vs static pages.

Please clarify... :-)

as in connecting to a db to query it... has to be PHP (or some other similar file) then.

HTML won't recognise mysql_pconnect...
