i want to insert a newline after some text when i send a message through email through php.

is it possible that the message can be sent in a particular format e.g. in a table format

You can certainly send HTML emails with PHP, although not everyone likes it. I found it hard to find a simple tutorial to do this also, so if you decide to do it here is the extra mail header you will need (there are other ways but I believe this to be pretty generic)

$mail_headers="From: [e-mail]\r\nReply-to: [e-mail]\r\nContent-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1";

$to="[e-mail]";
$subj="the subject";
$msg="the message";

mail($to,$subj,$msg,$mail_headers);

almost forgot, if you just want a new line in your mail use the '\n' linefeed charicter!
