I have an e-commerce system built with PHP and mysql. Can anyone please point me in the right direction of tutorials / books for linking this into an accounts package. My client wishes to collect from the mysql orders file and stuff it into his accounts app. I'm not sure how to tackle getting data from a dynamic file continuously updated via web-traffic. Any thoughts welcomed.

Hi,

I'm not quite sure I can really help, but if you can expand on a few things I'll try:

• does the data in the accounts package have to be continuosly updated, or only periodically (ie once a day)?

• is the only data you need to get for the accounts package stored in the MySQL database?

• what file formats will the accounting package import (ie csv)? Or does the accounting package have an API for external programs to interface with it?

Don't know how much help I can be, but I saw that no-one else on the forum had answered you, so I'll give it my best shot!
