BUT I might have to.
Maybe one of you vets have a better plan for me.
Right now I am hosting at LiquidWeb Inc. and although I am staying withing my bandwidth allotment (30 Gigs monthly alloted, only use about 22-25Gigs) and all my scripts are written properly so that DB connections are closing, they are still requesting that I "consider renting a dedicated server" since my site is tremendously popular. I use, according to them, about 35% of the server resources on mySQL databases alone during peak periods.
The email, which reads like a threat, tells me that my site is not breaking any of the "server abuse" rules because my scripts are all coded right (I guess they helped themselves to my code to check eh?) but it is still monopolizing resources and we will need to "resolve this issue". I am fairly positive they have their servers set up poorly...speak to ross their support guy and you will think so too....but they would rather believe it is the sites causing the bottlenecks.
So basically ... anybody know of a competent web host I can use that meets my PHP4.0, MySQL database, 25 Gig Transfer, 100 megs space needs that won't care if I am popular?
Any answers at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
PS - I have tried the webhosts sites and found liquidweb through one. I would rather go by word of mouth this time.
