Wondering if someone can offer a little kindly advice here. I'm writing a php-gtk+ app which, among other things, will have the abilty to execute mp3 files and playlists. Passing this files off to the appropriate proggie (ie. WinAmp, XMMS, etc.) is simiple:
exec("start '/path/to/playlist.m3u'");
However, all the program execution functions (exec, system, passthru) want to wait for the last line of program output. I'd prefer the program not to have to wait for the last line in a 500 song playlist🙂 How do I pass the output stream coming from WinAmp off somewhere else so the php-gtk+ proggie can continue running and doing other thing? As a secondary note, does anyone have any examples of code which read ID3 (v.1 or v.2) tags, or suggestions on how to do it? Thanks for your help!!!
