using templates

I found the articles listed for Templates quite interesting. Is there a consensus within the community as to which method to use? Is phplib the best method, or is there a better alternative? Perhaps there's an alternative to templates that I haven't found yet.

Moving to code separation will be a very time consuming project. Before I do it, I would like to make sure that I'm implementing the best program.

It is time consuming, but once it's done, management is SO much easier. There is no concensus on which is best, but of course the one I prefer is best 🙂 phplib.

I've got an extension to it here:

One advantage of that extension is the ability to have it parse the template so you don't need to change entire pages over to full code seperation immediatly.

Hi,
For what it's worth I've been using PHPLib templates for a few weeks and have found them to be a godsend.
There not to tricky to get the hang of either!

I was looking over the install docs for phplib, and I couldn't find instructions for php4. A quick web search revealed many install questions from different users, but no definitive guide to installing phplib with php4. Is there one out there?

phplib is for php3 but will work with php4 as is I believe.

The template engine that I use is "Smarty" available from http://www.phpinsider.com.

After using phplib I found this one a breeze to use. You can even get the web designers to knock up these templates without them having to understand a line of php.

I believe this is the best template engine available for PHP and with the continuous development it just get better and better.

Give it a try.
