Reduceing image size

I'm making Cruse boat size

there a lot of pictures of them

i made interface for staff to upload images so they don't have to edit html themselves

everything works fine

but on the main page i have thubnails of those boats they are made with digicam and pretty big so like 50 pictures per page

i wanted to use HTML img size reduction

with boarband it's ok to d/l them, but with 56k it will take a lot of time

so wot i'm i asking is that, when stuff uploads big images, the thubnails will b built on the fly, soze the images size gets smaller

is it somehow possable to do it in PHP
