News Site??? all in database???

here is my NEWBY question(s)
I run a site were every day we update news articles up to now I have over 500 html files all over the place, what I wanna do/if possible is to put all that site in a mySQL database.

on the front page I have 3 or 4 news headline with a small description.

on a second page I have all the articles of the day (full)with a link to a printable version of the article.

and I have a search engine that read the database and put together the headline and small description with a link to the full article.

and I need to have every articles archived for future reading.

I forgot to say that I need to develop a web based system to imput the articles in the database.

In the database you will need to have a table news

id title text timestamp

now create a form to fill in the news whith all this fields except id, this is a autoincrement field.

on the frontpage you can display the news with

SELECT * FROM news ORDER BY timestamp DESC LIMIT 1,3

to get out the newest 3 messages

do the same for the today news bey selecting all the news having timestamp since midnight and for the search algorithem you can choose

SELECT * FROM news WHERE text LIKE '%$searchstring%'
