Limited Records? But no reason why...!

Hi,

I have created a table which is rather large - about 66 fields!

I am trying to add records, but as soon as it reaches 10 records it won't let me add anymore.

I have tried fiddling, but it simply won't let me add anymore...

Has anyone got any ideas why this could be happening?

1) what error does it say?

2) what create table command was used?

The error message is:

Duplicate entry '10' for key 1

Which I don't understand. If it means the first field which is set as a auto increment, no duplicates, primary key... so how can it be duplicated?

The create table command. Just the standard... create table mems( followed by all the fields... and ending with );

So I am confused!?

the first field is set as 'userid' char(4) primary key auto increment

have you tried to drop the table and add it back using (userid INT AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY)?

it may not like using a char for a auto increment (which would explain why it maxes at 10 rows)

could i just edit the column? rather than have to recreate the table?

did what you said (although I deleted the column and then added it again rather than redoing the table... 66 fields take a while to setup!)
