ActiveX and PHP?

Hello folks, I'm a kind of progressive newbie in PHP world.
I have one weird but ql idea. You see, I want to use ActiveX to connect to users HD (not really), and PHP to search it. All I need to know is are the ActiveX and PHP compatible?

This is NOT any malicious code, AND it cannot cause any harm to users machine!

PHP is executed on the WEB server. I can't see this working until you manage to send the whole HD map or something like that to your PHP script using ActiveX.
