Scheduled tasks?

Does anyone know if it's possible to configure scheduled events to be carried out at predefined times?

What I wanna do is to have one database file overwritten by another so that in effect I have the same database driving two remotely hosted sites.

Basically this is like a scheduled FTP or download from one server to another.

I think this is wishful thinking but you got to ask, huh?

What DB? What OS?

I have done similiar things with UNIX and mySQL and cron.

How have you configured the files ?
