ImagePNG/ImageJPEG am i missing summit

Hi there,

I'm trying to save a PNG as a a file using the image function of ImagePNG($im,"chart.png");
Followed by the ImageDestroy() command. I have now spent the 2hr read the manual and webpages. But why cannot isave my image as afile.

Have i completely lost the plot on this ????
