exec-function

I have a problem....

How can i do this...
exec("grep -i $search database.txt",$execAr);

Server is not support exec-function!

it may be that the PHP config stuff has forbidden the exec command (for security ?),- or that the PHP user doesn't have access to that file, or that your setup simply doesn't support the concept.

Your best bet is to check out the

ereg & preg functions in PHP - they will do what you need in conjunction with some file functions (see fopen etc).
