chmod problem?

Hello,

With several scripts I have more or less the same problems.

The scripts don't work and stop with mentions like (depending of the script):

Warning: fopen("/guestbook.dat","a") - Permission denied in ../web/guestbook/addguest.php on line 1

Warning: fopen("counter/count.dat","r") - No such file or directory in ../web/counter/counter.php on line 1

I created the .dat files before I run the scripts.
I have checked if the server supports PHP on the right way; it does.
First I thought that it was simply an access issue but I changed the status with chmod 667 of the involved files and dir's but I do have the same errors.

Anybody any idee what to do?

try using full path to file...

ex: /usr/local/apache/htdocs/counter/count.dat

try a chmod of 777

Tried your advise. Still no differences.

It seems that the disjunktion sources in or around the .dat file or the code that wants to use the .dat file.
The scripts did work untill I copied them to a new location/par of the server.

Do you have or does anybody else have (an other) idee?
