Store an html file to a string

I cant seem to figure this out, I want to grab the outputted html on a page and store it in a string.

yep! if you say ouputted, you are probably accessing the dot-php file responsible for generating your html. well, reading a php file in your server gives you the PHP scripts rather than the executed result of the script. if you wish, you may re-write your script to result a flat html file rather than grabbing the outputted html, OR you may grab the outputted html as a client (from the concept of "client-server" applications/scripts).

Ok I think I follow your first thought something like connect to MySQL and write my data via fopen('flatfile.html',w) then just the oposite to read it $var = fopen('flatfile.html',r)
right?

hehehheh ummmmm yeah twice, calling fopen twice did not give me desired results. I now only call it once and works fine :-)
