How do I check if a date is in daylight saving time?

I have a site on an English server. I want a time in my guestbook to be stored in Swedish time. It's just to add 1 hour.

But this site isn't changing to and from daylight saving time. Therefore the server is 2 hours behind us now, instead of 1.

In the summer I will need to add 2 hours and in the winter 1 hour. And I don't want to change this manually two times a year.

Use the localtime function:-

$lt=localtime($yourdate, 1);
$dst = $lt["tm_isdst"];

$dst is now 1 if it's daylight saving time, 0 if it's not.
