User login system

Hi, i've been looking around for a good user system that uses php cookies/session and mysql as backend. Then i found something good in the Code Library -> Other -> Complete User Auth System

Looks cool and stuff.... but how do i use those functions ?!??

i really don't get it...

could someone please explain to me ?

That's what i'm wondering too....

How to protect the files with it? What kind of code do i add in the files i want to protect?

I can register, confirm, login, logout....all that, everything works great....but...again, how do i protect the files....?

I would want to create it the way that there would be a login form at frontpage and then when a person would login, it would redirect the person to a whole different site.... possibly a .htaccess protected directory?
And if the person wouldn't be logged in, and tries to access a site in that dir, site would redirect the person to login.php

Please, anyone who can help me with this situation.... help me, please.
