Processing Order for Includes

Hi All,

Can anyone enlighten me about the order in which a PHP document in processed?

I have an include which I need to alter depending on what argument is passed to the page in which it is embedded.

The specific alteration is this, depending on a theme= argument passed on the main file, I need to alter a link in the included file to incorporate this same argument, in order to keep the same theme running through the site.

Eh? include files are read/included at the point in time where the script executes the include, so when you tell it to include the file.

Thanks for the reply.

So when the server inserts the include, does it carry out any PHP instructions contained within that include, or does it just insert the include as it appears?

You may want to read the manual.

include reads the file and makes it part of the script at the point where the include occurs.
So yes, it parses and executes the php contained in the included file.
