Mail() bug? Who cares?

So after searching the Web for an hour to find out why mail() doesn\'t allow multiple recipients, I find that this was reported as a bug to PHP.net about a year ago.

Turns out the the bug report is \"closed.\"

I assume that since it still doesn\'t work someone decided that this isn\'t a bug or it\'s just not worth fixing or publishing some sort of work-around..

just use the headers in the mail function to send email. the fourth parameter to the mail() function accepts normal email headers. i know it works for "bcc:" so it should work with "To:"

Yes. Using \"CC\" in the 4th slot for extra headers causes a header with someone\'s address to appear on the mail, but the mail doesn\'t actually get CC\'ed to them.

I\'ll try the bcc, but I\'m not expecting it to work.

What\'s lame is that the PHP Manual entry on mail() states pretty clearly that you can submit a list of recipients seperated by commas and it will send to all listed. But this doesn\'t work, at least, not on everyone\'s system. There are posts all over about it. Just do a search on \"php4 mail multiple recipients\" on this search or Google. Nobody can seem to figure out why it doesn\'t work.
