str_replace with dynamic content

I'm trying to grab content from another site. The problem is that I need to get rid of the links. Here is the sentence I want to get rid of. <a href="result.asp?WCI=wiResults&amp;WCU=478436"> Another problem is that the number at the end is dynamic. It's changing all the time.

try out strip_tags() and see whether it helps you out.

I didn't get it to work. I'm suposed to use it like this: strip_tags($string); right? Any other sugestions?

can u tell me what did u store in $string.

In the $string I have stored a big homepage. The big problem is how to get rid of many links like this: <a href="result.asp?WCI=wiResults&WCU=478436">. Bur every link is diffrent becouse the number at the end is diffrent.
