I hunted high an low for a java servlet that
could run PHP4. It appears that the servlet support supplied with php4 is not at all reliable. I wrote a 'cgi servlet' which runs PHP4 in cgi mode. It performs OK using RESIN java web server. It requires jdk 1.3.0 or better (1.3.0 lets you set the working-dir for a new process). I notice other web-type folks are looking for something similar so email me if you want a copy.
