I have a form set up that is much like a guestbook. Once info is entered into the db you can edit it through the admin section (another form) when you select the record you want to edit all the info is populated back into the form. My problem is that I have a field which is entered into a <textarea> (which works fine for entering info) and upon editing, this textarea isn't populating with the corresponding data. If i change the textarea to <input type="text"> it populates fine, but this doesn't suit my needs. Can someone help this php-newbie out please?
Are you putting the info between the textarea tags, NOT inside them with 'value=$..', aren't you?
if your doing
<textarea value="<?=&yourvariable;?>"'></textarea>
then thats wrong, you want
<textarea name="thename"><?=$yourvariable;?></textarea>
ignore the '&' as its meant to be a $ 🙂

I guess I was at my witts end when I posted that, about 10 minutes later I discovered the problem myself. Its exactly what you guys pointed out. Sorry for troubling you guys, thanks for the responses though.
