need encryption

Hiya,

I'm in need of an encryptionscript that simply converts a string to something unrecognizeable, and vice versa.
I've allready taken a look at the encrypt() function, but quite frankly, I don't understand it.
Can someone give me a decent practical example of such a script?

If you only need to encrypt it and compare the value to a new value later using the same encryption, using md5() is the most common method.

hmm, i c.
I need it for the following :

we have a webshop and there should be an order tracking option.
Now, when someone orders something, he gets an email and in that mail they get a link where there orderid is pasted at the end, that orderid should be encrypted, and when they go to the actual url, it should be decrypted.

Anyway, I'ma take a look at that md5() thingy 🙂
