screaming over ns6 incompatibilities

i am experiencing session problems with ns6. is anyone else finding that sessions are not working in ns6? they work fine in ns < 6 and any version of IE. but not in NS6, or mozilla millestone 18..

argh. any known workarounds?

Yeah, stop using the notoriously awful NS6.

But seriously, I can't imagine NS6 doesn't use cookies or send proper URLs anymore.

have you checked the settings of your NS6?

that's just it. i don't use ns6, so i was not aware that it was not working. supposively NS6 was completely re-written compared to any 4.x netscape browsers (which i thoroughly tested on my site) -- but two of my friends use ns6 and they just cannot login (i'm assuming it is a problem with sessions -- not cookies, i only use cookies as an option to save passwd)

anyways, just wondering if anyone else is getting complaints that ns6 isn't working with sessions. i'm only on a 56k connectino so it is taking a while to download the 25meg file to test more ;o)

the bottom line being i would like my website to work regardless of any browser.. so i want to figure out why it is not working in ns6..

Thing is, sessions only fail if you a) don't send teh right sessionid in the URL, or b) use cookies for the sessionid and NS6 fails to eat the cookies correctly.

Wether sessions use cookies is determined in the php.ini, not in your scripts.

which settings should i check in the session part of the .ini file?

should this be 0? would this cause a problem? hrmmm...

if i got them to change to 0, what implications would that entail as well?

No it should not be zero.
But, it does mean that your site probably relies on using cookies, and that the people who have the NS6 problems have cookies disabled in their browser.

well, do you know how can i fix this problem? and get ns6 browsers working? (actually i just tried using ns6 in windows and it worked fine.. but it seems to only be not working in linux ns6)
