Shorten whole words in a string

Hey guys.

A problem I didn't find an easy solution for... If I have a string like "Here it comes: NowIammgonnawriteasentencewithnospacesinit and end" (Now I'm gonna write a sentence with nospaces in it). Is there an easy was t check the sentence for "words" that are longer than, for example, 20 letters and if they are, just add a space or dash there?

I can think of a couple of ways to add spaces to char grps over 20 chars but wouldn't it be easier to make sure that the string is created in a more useful format?

It's for a comment-system on a webpage.

People can comment news, articles and stuff through a textarea-tag and I don't want people to ruin the layout be typing hundreds of mmmmmmmmmmm together (which can of course be deleted but before it will sabotage the layout since the width will be too long).

Okay, you'll be needing eregi() then with this you could filter that kind of stuff and either replace it or trash it or whatever.
