Loading Speed of PAges

to anyone who wants to help or can offer help. If you browse this site select for example accomodation then in list of regions select wellington then say hotels as your choice. This then loads what i call a list page. This is generated on the fly by one file that can create any of the sections that are contained within the Accomodation category. My question is about speed of loading. These results are taking along time to be displayed. Even 10 results is take about 7 secs to load on a page. Now the pages contain 3 tables. One for the reults one for side adds and one for refine search options on the right.

I have been told that tables slow down loading alot. But i have looked at similar pages that use lists and tables and their pages loaded quickly.

What i am after is any help/suggestions on things that could be slowing these pages up. I have quired the admin of the server that runs that page about load effecting the site but they seem to think that even though the box runs under very highload as it is an exceptionally powerful system and no other webpages they server are slow it isnt a problem at their end.

If anyone has experiance with such things and you would like to look at the code that loads the page i would be happy to send it to you.

wow it is slow, sometimes it could be an html problem. Your coding my be hard to interpret by the browser. I tried messing with html to see if it did make a difference, and it does. The more html tables, breaks, etc slow the load down to. But not as much as what I saw and I have a cable connection.

What is your source code in php.

I am experiencing the same thing...
But my problem only started after I had changed server....

Very annoying. I do not know what to do with it. I HAVE to find out as fast as possible.
Do you think you could send me the code for your slowest page?

I will compare it to what I have and give you feedback.

ok
well my problem was caused by an index error
i had the same index but as a differant type. This caused the queires to run EXTREMELY slow

wen i fixed this the page loaded in liek 2 secs.

Other than that you can try taking out as many tables/html tags as you can. I totally optomised my pages and i think this would have helped. You can also try adjusting how the page data is loaded. I did a second page design where i added fields to database to cut downt he number of queries required to display the data. but once index problem was fixed it was fine.

Other than that check the server stats. Are you doing large quires, maybe server you have changed to is under massive load or cant handle the size of queries. Send me a link to yah site so i can look... maybe be your connection... who knows.

Do you mean that your indexing in the database tables was wrong? Or your index as in index.php?
