Zend Encoder

Anyone here have experience with the Zend encoder? How good is it at protecting code, and does it increase performance?

Can an encoded file be included via include() or require() in a non-encoded file?

Hello,

From what Zend has said there is a slight performance increase with the Encoder, as the code doesn't have to be compiled each time. So far it's been great at protecting our code.

From the Zend Encoder FAQ:

Encoded and non-encoded PHP files can be used together transparently.
