spacing with "%20" in Netscape

Anybody willing to help:

I'm fairly new to PHP, so please bear with me. It seems like when my coding is passed on netscape, the spaces are not translated as "%20", thus not displaying the correct data.

eg.
?region="South America"

instead of

?region="South%20America"

I'm retrieving the data from Mysql.
Explorer seems to do it fine, but somehow netscape refuses to work. Is there any way around this? thanks.

You will need to use the urlencode() function:
http://www.phpbuilder.com/manual/function.urlencode.php

before creating your link. This is actually the correct way to do it; there is nothing wrong with Netscape. It is not the browsers responsibility to correct code.

What if it is not PHP code?? I have had this same problem, but while attempting to write a url with javascript. I don't know of a URLEncode function in javascript, do you?

In javascript, use the escape() function.
