Email splitting after 250 characters?

I am attempting to send news stories via email. Everytime a paragraph gets longer than 250 characters it breaks in the middle of the word. Can anyone offer a solution?

To be honest, don't see the problem 🙂) But it may lie in:

a) the actual sendmail configuration
b) wrong use of the mail function
c) if you are not doing it now, then do this: get all the text in a variable, replacing all the <br> tags with \n tags and try again 🙂
