php include function with pages with css

ok, ok, here's my dilema for all those who can help.

im making a page (index.php), that has some css hide/shows in it (and some other css). Within this page, im using the php include function, trying to include another php page. The page will load, included and all, but the css doesnt work for index.html. I've tried all sorts of things, breaking the pages down into seperate htmls, css', and phps. any ideas anyone. anyone have the same problem out there.

The include-function should not affect the output nor the CSS-part. But CSS can be a pain in the rear sometimes, so I suggest you make a "small" version of what you want to output and then make sure it's formatted according to W3-standards, in order to get the CSS to work.

Btw. : Have you tried using ' instead of " or vice versa? I don't know if that would help

what are w-3 standards? i tried what you suggested, and included it in the overall page (the css menu included at the top of index.php). Everything will load correctly, but still the css will not work, or in anypage that that has a .php extension that is included in index.html. Any more ideas to try?
