Stripping Email for verification.

Hello,

I am wondering what is best way to do something.

I am collecting the users email for a site. I do not however want people who use emails like hotmail for example.

So I need to strip email so if someone enters says [e-mail], a variable is set to hotmail.com so I can run against a ban list.

I just want to know best way since the emails will be varying lengths and types.
