Hell, I'm actually thinking if there's a way to make it worst, haven't found any, up to now...hey, you could connect to remote database with no purpose at all!
No, man, I was kidding.
You can even use echo intead of print, wich isn't a function but a procedure and it is a bit faster (faster, like a few miliseconds or less).
Anyway it's a goog programming practice to use the minimum recurses needed while achiving your goal.

Why not produce a page in HTML with the "look" you want. You could use CSS to control the font, colour and size of your text. When your happy with the HTML all you have to do is insert the variables like this <?php echo "$prod_mfgr" ?>. You would use printf if you wanted to produce a formated string.
