My idea was something like this
/shop.php?product=25&page=2
Would become ....
/shop.php/product/25/page/2
Which a search engine would interpret as a directory structure rather than a querystring and as such would spider away to it's hearts content...
Has anyone done this before? I'm sure i'm not the 1st to think of this. I'm not that clever 😉
If i was i could probably write a regular expression to parse the url in one line.
I'm thinking explode the url at every occurence of a "/" shift the first two values off the array (which would be a blank value and the script name) then parse out each name and value pair into a respectively named variable.
Waddya Think?
