Open HTTPS page from PHP?

Hi everybody,

I found a lot of articles about how to use PHP and Apache to send secure web pages. However, what I need now is to connect to another server through HTTPS and retrieve a web page from it.

I have not found any clues in the PHP documentation, the SSL RFC seems to be somewhat useless for me, too. If you have any hints, please answer, I will greatly appreciate it!
