Excluding html tags

Hi,

I have a field where users can enter info with html tags like <br> <ul><li>..etc

I then pass the field's variable to a form which then will be send to my email.

What are the better ways to exlude those tags so taht the field is readable in my email?

I think strip_tags() is what your looking for.
