Netscape (very bad!)

my $vars and overall php functionality works excellent in IE... no problems at all.

However, in netscape, no all my $vars always register..(i am using sessions)

Whats up with netscape...? I am trying to develop for any version (5.x +) of IE and any version (4.x +) of Netscape.

Are there any special headers or javascript I should use with netscape 4.x?

The behavior is intermittent... sometimes netscape appears to work fine, other times, it just doesn't work with some aspects -- no rhyme or reason.

Follow up --

Should I use GET instead of POST in my forms -- I noticed that POST seems to hang netscape for a couple of seconds (sometimes), whereas GET just gets pushed through... butttt... what will I be limiting, or changing by using GET vs POST?

GET sends parameters to the script through the address. POST will send it directly to the script, without adding stuff to the address.

POST:
http://www.blah.com/something.php

GET:
http://www.blah.com/something.php?username=name&password=pass

You don't lose or gain anything by using different methods. However, GET could cause security problems, because all the info can be seen in the address.

I'm sorry, but I can't answer your first question. I don't bother to program for NS 4.x, since everyone's going to use 6.0 pretty soon.

This pretty soon moment has been coming for the last year, and is still not gonna be here for the next 2-3 years... I've seen people running Netscape 3, so I am not surprised... besides, there is Opera, which is slowly drilling for its share of the Browser market...

That is questionable... now that netscape has completely stopped developing it's browser.

I had a problem with netscape 4 not passing form and session variables correctly too. But IE and netscape 6 working fine.

Turns out it was just one little thing causing problems.

I had enctype="text/plain" which was causing problems. I took that out, and things work fine with netscape 4 now.
