Session failure.

That happens when I use the function session_start().

It seems PHO can't create the sessions files. Can anyone tell me why?

you've either got some corrupt session vars in there

ie. sess_bc3a85b37229bfbd1254f527e11ea568

or that dir (/tmp/sessions) has the wrong permissions, double check the dir is rw by the same use apache runs as (web, nobody, etc)

Ive come across bad sessions file that are corrupt before.

I am having this problem too. I use Win98 + APACHE 1.3.12 + PHP4.03.

I tried to change session.save_path in php.ini from /tmp to \tmp, then restart apache. But still got exact same error.

As for the two possible problems you mentioned, how do I know (1) if I got corrupted vars, or (2) the dir permission is correct? Should I specify the tmp dir as something like: c:\apache\htdocs\tmp?

Problem solved. Just found that the php.ini file is actually located under c:\wondows\system not the one in php directory.
