Can an include file read variables declared in the main file? Example, I have two files, month.php and mail.php. mail.php is included in month.php. can mail.php access the variables declared in month.php? if so how do i do that.

Sould be fine as long as you define your vars then include your file.

All variables defined above your include/require-statement should also be available in your included/required file, since they are in the same scope.

tecknek post was correct I am just going to add to it, this is probably common knowlage but I will post anyhow.

all declared vars will be accessable to the included document if the file was not opened via url-wrapper. ie.

include('index.egn');

will work.

include('http://mediawaveonline.com/index.php');

will not have access to the declared vars.
