Some people use:
<? $name='pepe'; echo'<b>$name</p>; ?>
Some others do this:
<? $name='pepe'; ?> <b><?echo$name?></b>

Sorry, it took my html tags, what I was asking was the difference between closing the script to write some html code or using echo to do it instead?

I think it depends on the amount of HTML, if it's only a little then pront it if it's a lot then close it!
