Need to reverse autoincrement

I'm trying to pull the last 15 entries from a MySQL database and have no idea where to start 😛 Does anyone know if there's a SELECT query that will start with the highest number, or could someone point me in a general direction for documentation. I've tried the MySQL manual and the PHP manual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

you need to study on what autoincrement means man.

anyway, here's your simple sql (probably given as an example in many manuals across the net)

select key from table order by key desc limit 15;

The limit isn't ANSI SQL however, so it may now work on your backend.

Select * from MyTable Order By MyAutoIncrement DESC

Then you could set up a for statement i = 1 to 15... to just pull the top 15 records...

i think Tom's solution is better. Since it limit the result set size.
if you use a for-loop to count the records, you still create a full size result set. It will waste the database memory and work load.
ofcourse the database should support limit. Fortunly, Mysql have this function.
