Question for the gurus of phpbuilder:

Im developing a site and already have the output i need, however i also need the "take me there" text to link to the merchant's site. (screen shot) http://www.ehagglers.com/here.gif

Here is the code im working with. The "take me there" portion is in a table below:

I need the code to be smart and not re-list the same link in a loop. I need the link to be specific to that merchants site..

Hopfully, there is a way...

I am not too sure what you are trying to do but this may be the solution:

Store the urls in an array:

$comp_list = array();

while (condition) {
if (!isset($comp_list["$comp_url"])) {
//display code
$comp_list["$comp_url"]=1;
}
else {
//dont display code
}
}

Is this on the right track?

If you could provide a bit more information, I can try to help. Generally when I'm building dynamic lists like it appears you might be doing, I include a link field in the database table for each entry. (assuming you are using a database...) That way you can do something similar to the loop below:

$result = @("SELECT * from <products table here>");
While($row = @mysql_fetch_array($result)) {
<code here to display picture/text>

echo "<td width='100%' colspan='2'><em><small><a href='$row[comp_url]'>Take me there!</a>";
}

If you are using another system, let me know and I'm sure the gurus here can come up with something. 🙂

OK, here goes...

Im developing a site that merchants will use to list thier products. Each user will need to fillout a form and include comapny info, as well as the url to thier site. When a visitor queries the db, the results will be the product, price and comapny link so that the visitor will be able to click on it and go directly there from that point. I want "take me there" to be the link to the merchants site. The way that the rusults gets displayed is that it loops if it find another related query(im sure that s the ways everyone does it)I need the link listed to be related to that merchant and not loop and display the same link...
